How-To: using Google Takeout for “Download my knols to a file”

Authors

Hi,

As reported on Knol Help Page their are a lot of people who have problems to use the “Download my knols to a file“…

So, here we go. I will explain you How-To: first click the link “Download my knols to a file” as shown in above screenshot… Make sure to be logged in to your Google account, a must!

.

.

.

The above window will appear showing you that the data is getting loaded…

.

.

Once the data downloaded to “Google Takeout” (100% displayed), you need to click the button “CREATE ARCHIVE“.

.

.

Takeout” will now start to download your content to a folder called “Knol“…

.

.

Mark now also (if wished so…) the case “Email me when ready“, this allows you continuing to work on your computer while the data is getting created into this “knol folder”, otherwise watch how it’s working…

.

.

The download finished you get an email notification as shown in above screenshot. Click the link “ready” which will bring you to the “Google Takeout” start page as show in below screenshot…

===> IMPORTANT: as you might have seen it, the download will be ONLY AVAILABLE  FOR 1 WEEK!!! <===

.

.

Sign in with your account details now!

.

.

You will get asked now to give your “Mobile phone number??? If you don’t want to loose completely privacy, skip this and click on “Click here” link as shown in above screenshot.

.

.

Click the button “Skip” now…

.

.

.

Now you could save your downloaded in a compressed (zipped) format to your computer; see “Type” where it will display the format and the installed compressing-uncompressing program installed on your computer… I use personal “WinRar” on my computer…

.

For those you are used to work with compressed files they know the further steps to do, other persons could have a look here where they will find more info on about How-To:
